We would like to introduce you to Ryarsh Village Hall which we and our hirers, believe is one of the best in Mid-Kent.

Ryarsh is a small, charming village situated midway between Sevenoaks and Maidstone having a direct access onto the A20 with the M20 being within easy reach via nearby junctions 3 and 4.

The hall is situated in the centre of the village fronting the 4 acre village green, and with designated car parking for 60 vehicles but with a capacity to park considerably more. To the north it enjoys outstanding views of the North Downs.

At the time of writing this article we are delighted to advise after a year of shutdown due to pandemic restrictions as of the 21st June these will be lifted, and normal service can be resumed.

At this point we are talking with former regular hirers all of whom wish to return but are now in a position to consider new hiring’s from the June date such as new classes parties’ receptions etc.  Interested parties should contact our Booking Clerk :

ACCOMMODATION

Main Hall

 

Measures 10300mm (33ft 9ins) by 17000mm(55ft) clear height 4metres

Recommended capacities (persons) – Close Seating 250,  at Tables 180,  Dancing 190. The hall is fitted with  a sound system which includes an impedance loop to assist those hard of hearing, also incorporating a series of ceiling speakers for talks speeches etc. by microphone but not suitable for band use. Many standard chairs and tables are available.

It also has an electric drop-down screen, but projectors need to be provided by hirers.

 Davison Room

 

Accessed directly from the main hall and with a similar access to the village green.

Measures 5000mm(16ft5ins) by 10300mm (39ft3ins). Normal domestic ceiling height It also has a drop-down electric screen but projectors again to be provided by hirers. There is hatch access to the  bar, and also to the main kitchen.  Many standard chairs and tables available

 Main Kitchen

Modern with fridge (no freezer), cooker, tea urns, and a limited supply of crockery and cutlery.  If meals are to be prepared on site, we are required to see the certification held by the person involved. There are serving hatches to both the Main Hall and Davison Room.

 Library

 

 A wide selection of books jigsaw puzzles etc. available to members of the public when the hall is open and on Saturday mornings subject to holidays from 9 30am until 10am.

Reception

 

 Main hall straight ahead,  toilets Davison Room and main kitchen to the, left cloakrooms right.

Meeting Room

A small room behind the bar with chairs and tables able to seat 10/12 persons and ideal for small meetings. Often used as a changing room for weddings or to let granny have a quiet cup of coffee at a busy event.

 Facilities and General Information 

Gents and Ladies toilet together with a disabled cubical. Two cloakrooms.  

Central Heating (radiators)and Hot water are provided by a Gas Boiler installed in 2019.

The building is fitted with a modern fire alarm system and all facilities as required are regularly serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

The hall is insured for third party risks, but this does not cover issues arising within a hire or persons attending such.

Bar

A servery and storage area with hatch access into the Davison Room and doors to the main hall and patio. There is also a small kitchen facility.

The on licence is held by the licencee of the nearby Duke of Wellington PH who can run bars to suit all occasions. He is also able to provide an extensive catering facility from a  finger buffet to a full a la carte feast. If the bar is to be run by a third party a copy of the events notice is required at least 10 days in advance of the event.

Car Parking

The car park is accessed by short service road from Birling Road. Its entire surface is tarmaced and there are 60 marked parking spaces including 4 disabled. Circulation space is very generous and additional parking space, although unmarked, is available for large hirings.  There is full LED lighting,  PIR  operated.

 Children’s Playground

 Adjoins the hall mostly modern equipment regularly inspected.

 Useful and helpful information

 A facility available for wedding, parties etc. is the installation of an internal marquee in the main hall. This can be tailored to specific requirements, a typical layout shown above. The hall management are in no way involved or earn from the facility. It is run by a local company and we put interested parties in contact with them to negotiate their requirements.  The company are also able to offer quality chairs, tables, lighting facilities etc.
